Social Choreography
Updated: Oct 7
Social Choreography explores how people move, interact, communicate and make decisions together. Instead of treating people as an audience, it creates situations where they become active participants in shaping what happens.
A central figure in this field is Steve Valk, Director of the Institute of Social Choreography. Valk spent many years working closely with internationally renowned choreographer William Forsythe at Ballett Frankfurt. This experience played an important role in the development of his thinking around Social Choreography.
From our perspective, William Forsythe can be seen as a kind of “Picasso of contemporary choreography” — an artist who challenged traditional structures and opened new ways of thinking about movement, relationships and participation.
For PoshAnarchist, Social Choreography is important because our vision is not simply about holding $ECAT or $ANARK tokens.
It is about people meeting, participating, exchanging ideas, making decisions and creating together — digitally and physically.
Steve Valk — Dramaturgical Advisor
Steve Valk is officially the Dramaturgical Advisor to the PoshAnarchist vision.
Through his experience in Social Choreography, participatory structures and cultural development, Steve will help guide how our community grows, interacts and transforms ideas into meaningful collective action.
His role is not to define the movement for the community, but to help create the conditions in which the community can participate, communicate and shape the vision together.
This approach connects directly with the philosophy behind $ECAT and $ANARK: technology and tokenization should not replace human participation — they should create new possibilities for it.
The community is not the audience. The community creates the movement.
Humans First.
